Nebraska Cornhuskers football offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield is hoping and praying for better offense, will those prayers be answered?
Marcus Satterfield isn’t the most popular guy in Lincoln these days. He seems to know that.
He also seems to know that the best way for him to win fans back to his side is for the offense to be quite a bit better. In order to do that, they’re going to have to stop turning the ball over.
Satterfield made it clear on Wednesday he understands that conundrum. During his press conference, he made it clear he’s “praying” for fewer mistakes on that side of the ball.
The question now is just how well people are going to respond to that particular assertion. Nobody loves to hear an offensive coordinator talk like things are out of his hands.
It’s obvious what Satterfield was trying to say. I’m still willing to bet that’s one of those quotes people point to if things continue to go sour.
Nebraska Cornhuskers volleyball team gets big-time viewers
On Tuesday night, the Nebraska Cornhuskers dominated the Stanford Cardinal volleyball team. While attendance wasn’t all that impressive, it turns out that the people watching on television was.
More people watched Nebraska-Stanford (466,000) than the Yankees-Red Sox game in (430,000), NFL Live (437k), and Pat McAfee (307k).
It’s those kind of numbers that have some people thinking the Nebraska Cornhuskers could end up being a kind of flagship program for women’s volleyball. Obviously, Volleyball Day In Nebraska set the stage for that. If the Huskers keep winning and drawing eyes, they could indeed be the school that leads to sport to a more mainstream audience.
Nebraska football gets plenty of viewers
Speaking of eyeballs on television sets, the Nebraska Cornhuskers football team got great ratings last weekend as well. Their game against Colorado ended up second in total viewers behind only Texas-Alabama.
The third most-watched game was well behind the other two. One thing is certain: even when the Nebraska Cornhuskers are not very good, their fans are still plenty interested in watching.
