A forrmer member of the Nebraska football team got off to a scary start to his playing days with his new team after being carted off the field.

So far, it’s been a rough week for current Nebraska football players and those who used to play in Lincoln. Mark former Husker Alante Brown as having one of the toughest outings of the week as he suffered through a very scary moment in Michigan State’s football game on Friday night.

Just five seconds into the Spartans game against Central Michigan, Brown had to be carted off the field. At the time it wasn’t entirely clear what happened but a collision with an opposing player on the opening kickoff.

After the collision, Brown fell to the ground awkwardly and eventually had to be taken off the field on a cart as he was secured and not allowed to move.

The apparent injury had his teammates and opponents both taking some time to hope that he was going to be ok. The good news is that a few hours after the game, the former Nebraska football star took to Twiter to indeed make sure everyone knew he was ok.

Former Nebraska football player hits roadblock to new career

It’s certainly good news to see that Alante Brown is fine. It can’t have been the start to his post-Nebraska football career he was envisioning.

Brown left the Huskers this past spring, and certainly had a number of offers to go just about anywhere he wanted. He ended up choosing the Michigan State Spartans.

That choice means that should Brown indeed be healthy and ready to go, he could be catching passes against his former teammates.

At that point, we can hope he and the rest of the Spartans don’t find much success. For now, Nebraska football fans can wish him well and hope there isn’t any lasting impact from that injury.
