The Nebraska Cornhuskers are going to need to get great offensive line play if they want to have success and there are some indications they will.

There’s been lots of talk, as a matter of fact, about the optimism that surrounds the offensive line this year. Of course, there are plenty of signs that things are going to need to improve drastically in 2023.

The offensive line was bad last year. There were all sorts of ways in which it was bad. But there is still optimism abounding and it could be because the fit between the offense and the offensive line coach is quite a bit better in 2023.

Tom Shatel wrote that Nebraska football head coach Matt Rhule understands what it takes to rebuild the offense line and rebuild the pipeline.

“I’d like to be a big, physical offensive line that can do a lot of things,” Rhule said earlier this month. “At the end of the day we want to run the ball, stop the run, protect the quarterback and affect their quarterback. We need big, powerful guys up there who are smart and can handle all the looks.”

Shatel believes that Rhule picked Raiola because they are on the same page when it comes to how the offensive line should operate. And that could mean a return of The Pipeline. And that’s always where success started for the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Nebraska Cornhuskers volleyball has scrimmage

John Cook’s latest iteration of the Nebraska Cornhuskers volleyball team officially kicked off the 2023 season with a Red White scrimmage. The Red team won the match 3-1 (25-23, 25-23, 19-25, 27-25).

Though the White team put together a run that almost took the match to a fifth set. More than a few onlookers were impressed by how evenly matched the two units were. Some think that bodes well for the fifth-ranked Nebraska Cornhuskers in the upcoming season.

Keisei the long range killer

Nebraska basketball star Keisei Tominaga is busy playing for the Japanese national basketball team. In playing for that team, he’s faced off against some pretty good opponents.

That includes draining shots in the face of some of the best players in the NBA such as Luka Doncic.

Nebraska Cornhuskers fans should continue to be excited about the return of Keisei Tominaga this fall.
