Nebraska football could be in line for another commitment at the start of next month as 4-star speedster Gatlin Bair is announcing his school pick.

The Nebraska football team has been having all kinds of success on the recruiting front for weeks now. June was one of the best months in decades for the team and July kicked off with a 4-star commitment from the best player in the state of Hawaii.

Later this month, the Nebraska football recruiting apparatus will spin up again and could get some very good news twice in just about a week’s time. The first piece of possible positive news could come after a visit from 3-star edge rusher  Devoux Tautaga. He’ll be in town on July 28.

Then, on August 5, 4-star wide receiver, a guy that is all about insane speed, Gatlin Bair will announce his school of choice. Bair is holding a special event where the receiver will pick between the Nebraska football team, Boise State, TCU, Michigan and Oregon.

One of the most newsworthy things about Bair and the schools that are recruiting him is that it’s not often that even the top prospect out of Idaho is getting so much attention from Power 5 schools.

Nebraska football a long shot for Gatlin Bair

Whether the Huskers can actually get the wide receiver to pick them seems unlikely. On3 has the Wolverines as the heavy favorite. However, it does appear that Matt Rhule and company have a fighting chance.

One reason why the Nebraska football team does have a real chance is because Bair seems some connections between his hometown school and the Huskers. He told On3 that he feels like the Huskers are a lot like Boise State and that’s a good thing.

“The people there are very similar to the people that I grew up around, very hospitable people, very nice people. The other thing is the vision that coach (Matt) Rhule has for Nebraska.”

The good news is that Nebraska football doesn’t have long to wait to see if they can indeed haul in Gatlin Bair and just keep rolling right along in recruiting.
