The Nebraska football team is currently in the lead for not only one of the most sought-after offensive linemen in 2024, but for four of them.
The Huskers have had a hell of a recruiting run since June. It doesn’t appear that the run is over just yet. It looks like Matt Rhule and the company might be on the cusp of closing the deal on several big offensive linemen in the 2024 class.
Two of the linemen we’re talking about tonight have been seen as having a Nebraska football lean for a while now. Preston Taumua and Grant Brix are four-star offensive linemen that have been looking hard at the Huskers for a while now.
While the two linemen have been solid for the Huskers over the last few days, both players came out of the blue when recruiting experts suddenly projected that both linemen would end up in Lincoln. Should the Nebraska football team get those two players, it would be a heck of a boon.
Now there are two other offensive line targets that the Nebraska football team is trending in the right direction with. And if the Huskers land all four, then Matt Rhule and company are rebuilding the offensive line quicker than anyone could have seen coming.
Nebraska football landing maulers?
Should the Huskers land Brix and Taumua, that would honestly be good enough for the 2024 class. Nuku Mafi isn’t a name that most Husker fans know all that well. But it looks like the Cornhuskers staff is plenty familiar with him.
Mafi is a Utah 3-star prospect that is viewed as a very solid Nebraska football lean by On3. That’s quite an accomplishment considering that Tennessee, USC, Utah and BYU are all hot on his trail. According to the recruiting experts, the Huskers have an 88.4 percent chance of landing him.
Xander Ruggeroli, a 6-8 lineman from Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas, doesn’t have the same kind of big-time offers as the other guys on this list. However, he’s also someone that is going to roll with the Nebraska football team if they let him commit.
He might not have monster offers, but he’s a monster offensive lineman. The most interesting thing about this particular quartet is that it shows the Husker coaching staff knows that if they build a winner, they’re going to do it on the offensive line.
