The Nebraska football team is is extremely good standing when it comes to 4-star linebacker Christian Jones and could land him relatively soon.

It appears that Nebraska football’s recruiting success is continuing unabated. If the latest predictions can be believed, it looks like that success is expanding outside the 2024 class and into the 2025 class as well.

That makes quite a bit of sense considering that the Nebraska football staff’s approach has seemingly long been that they wanted to lock up as much of the 2024 class as possible so it could turn its attention towards further into the future.

Efforts to keep locking down the 2025 class and beyond seemingly paid off on Tuesday to the tune of jumping solidly into the lead for one of the better players in that particular group. It just so happens that the Huskers have an extra edge when it comes to landing Christian Jones. The Omaha Westside star looks like he’s going to be staying home.

A Crystal Ball by Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports predicts that Jones will indeed land with the Huskers. That is noteworthy if for no other reason than the fact that Wiltfong isn’t one who has taken his predictions lightly. So far, he’s 11 for 11 when it comes to crystal balls in the 2025 class. Now he’s saying that the Nebraska football team will land a player that is ranked well inside the Top 100 players in his year. Not in the state, in the country.

Just when Christian Jones might be willing to go ahead and pull the trigger for the Huskers is still anyone’s guess. He’s not someone who needs to decide anytime soon.

Even if he’s leaning hard toward staying home, he’s got plenty of big-time schools who are trying to win over his affections. Oklahoma, Notre Dame and Wisconsin are among the Power 5 programs that have offered.

Nebraska football is going to have to work hard in order to reel him in. But it appears they are in the driver’s seat.
