Nebraska Cornhuskers News: Izaac Dickey staying home, Matt Waldron’s debut, more
The Nebraska Cornhuskers added yet another fullback to its recruiting roster as a walk on. Matt Waldron made his major league debut and more Huskers news.
While there’s been quite a bit made about the Nebraska football team’s additions to the scholarship roster this weekend, Matt Rhule and company are also pulling in quite a few interesting walk-ons. EDGE player James Williams is one such PWO. Izaac Dickey is another.
Dickey announced on Twitter, Sunday that he’d decided to walk-on with the Nebraska Cornhuskers and it means the team has added yet another player who could take on the fullback position in the coming years.
The addition of the Stromsburg player is interesting entirely because it appears that the Huskers are trying to stock that position with players much the same way Rhule’s predecessors did back when there was a fullback position to be filled. It’s all about not using a scholarship player but seeing if someone might rise to the occasion and earn a scholarship later.
