Nebraska football recruiting scores big: lands top 6 spot for coveted tight end
Nebraska football recruiting continues looking to shore up the tight end position with a monster-sized prospect in Ty Rupe.
Since Matt Rhule arrived in Lincoln, he’s been working hard on reshaping the roster of the Nebraska football team. One of the areas that he’s focused on the most in recruiting is the tight end position. It’s apparent that Marcus Satterfield’s offense is going to be going to the TE even more often than Mark Whipple or Scott Frost did.
That’s why it’s a pretty massive success that the Nebraska football recruiting efforts of Texas tight end Ty Rupe has landed them in his Top Six. Remember that it’s never clear how binding those lists are from one player to another.
Rupe announced on Twitter that the Huskers made his list though there’s some time yet to keep paring down. Nebraska football recruiting efforts put them in company with Minnesota, Mississippi State, Colorado State, UNLV, and Colorado. That list is certainly an interesting one. Especially considering two Colorado state schools are on the list for a kid from Texas.
It’s also certainly newsworthy that no schools from Rupe’s home state are included in the Top Six.
Nebraska football recruiting makes the cut
Rupe is a monster specimen at the tight end position. He stands 6-foot-6 and weighs in at 232 pounds. Because he’s a member of the 2025 class, he has room to grow and develop before he makes the college level.
It’s hard not to wonder if the tight end is where the prospect is going to end up or if Nebraska football recruiting might be thinking about giving him a look at the rush-end position by the time he comes to Lincoln.
Not knowing what the future holds, it’s hard to know what the next step is going to be for Rupe’s recruitment. But this will definitely be one to watch for Nebraska football recruiting.
