Daniel Kaelin might have originally committed to the Missouri Tigers, but it’s not because he ever felt animus towards the Nebraska Cornhuskers. In fact, the Bellevue West quarterback has wanted to be a member of the Nebraska football team for a very, very long time.

On3 recently talked to Kaelin’s head coach at Bellevue West about the quarterback has journey. He also talked about the development of the player since he just started playing football.

Huffman talked a lot about just how much the signal-caller has turned himself into a quarterback that is currently ranked 28th in the country by On3. That might sound a bit low on the list, but he’s one of the most highly-ranked QBs the state of Nebraska has seen.

Other Nebraska Cornhuskers news

  • The Nebraska Cornhuskers softball team followed up what was one heck of a comeback in order to get to the regional final with a game that looked like it was going to be an echo on Sunday. They gave the regional host Oklahoma State all it could handle in the contest but eventually, the Cowboys were just a little too strong for the Huskers. Nebraska needed to win two games on Sunday, so the 5-2 loss means that the season is officially over.
  • If there’s one thing that has been very consistent about Matt Rhule’s recruiting approach it’s been that he absolutely loves speed. Knowing that it’s a safe bet that wide receiver target Gatlin Bair’s recent performance in track brought a big smile to his face. Bair posted a 10.15 time in the 100-meter dash. According to the announcers calling the meet, that would mean that Bair posted the fasted time of any high schooler this year. The best news of all is that Bair is considered a pretty hard lean to the Nebraska Cornhuskers football team.
