Ochaun Mathis is repping the Nebraska Cornhuskers in the NFL before he gets on the field as he’s got his new rookie card. That and more in today’s news.
Now that the NFL Draft has come and gone, it’s time for guys like Ochaun Mathis and Trey Palmer are getting ready to show what they an do on the field. But before that happens, they’re enjoying some of the cool peripherals of being rookies in “The League.”
One of the little benefits that come from being drafted earlier this spring is that Ochaun Mathis now officially has a rookie card. His family gave Nebraska Cornhuskers fans a sneak peak of that card on Monday.
It’s hard not to be excited about what Mathis can do when you see him out there in all that glory. The card highlights that he’ll be trying to make it as a rookie outside linebacker for the Los Angeles Rams. But it also goes a long way in repping Nebraska football, considering that’s the uniform he’s showing off on the card.
Cade Povich wins Pitcher of the Week
Cade Povich continues to be quite impressive as he climbs up the ladder in his quest to make the Major Leagues. So far this year he’s 3-2 with a 3.38 ERA, though where he’s really raising eyebrows is his strikeout rate.
Povich has K’d 44 batters in just 26.2 innings for the Baltimore Oriole’s AA team, the Bowie Baysox. His fast start to the season includes five shutout innings with 10 K’s in his last start.
The start earned him another Eastern League Pitcher of the Week Award.
Povich is repping the Nebraska baseball team quite well so far this year.
