The Nebraska football team finally came calling for an in-state prospect that has been getting quite a bit of attention over the last few weeks.
Until today, the Nebraska football team hadn’t offered the athlete from Omaha Westside. That seemed like a bit of an oversight, considering that he was getting more and more attention from some top-notch schools.
Last week, Notre Dame came calling, and it seemed like just a matter of time until the Nebraska football team did the same. It actually took very little time.
Rezac announced on Twitter that the Huskers officially made an offer on Thursday afternoon. The big question at this point is whether or not it’s too little, too late.
The Fighting Irish are wasting no time trying to get the 9th-ranked player in the state of Nebraska. They recently had him on campus for an unofficial visit and it’s clear that Notre Dame is the favorite at the moment.
The big question now is whether or not Nebraska football can make a move and shoot up the rankings of teams that Teddy Rezac is looking at. Considering there aren’t that many Power 5s in the picture, it would seem like a two-team race.
The question is going to be whether the Omaha prospect has any hard feelings about it taking this long for Matt Rhule and company to give him an official offer. The good news is that the Huskers have done a very good job of making prospects feel they’re essential to the new staff.
Rezac doesn’t have an official position heading into college. In high school, he played defensive back and linebacker. As well as a hybrid position of the two. The next couple of months are obviously going to be quite important to Nebraska football and their chances of landing Teddy Rezac.
It’s likely he’ll be picking a school before the 2023 season gets under way.
