Former Nebraska Cornhuskers running back Ajay Allen has found his next school. Damian Jackson is going pro. That and more in today’s news.

When the Nebraska Cornhuskers football team lost Ajay Allen to the transfer portal, there were certainly more than a few people who were a bit concerned. After all, there was quite a bit of excitement when he decided to come back.

In fact, there were some who believed that once Allen announced he was coming back, he was the odds-on favorite to win the starting running back job. Now he’s gone and on Monday he found himself a new school.

Allen announced on Twitter that he’s going to be playing for the Miami Hurricanes in 2023.

That landing spot certainly seems to indicate that the Hurricanes at least believe the Nebraska Cornhuskers let a good one get away. For the most part, when a Husker transfers out of Lincoln, they tend to end up in a spot that seems to be on a lower level.

That is certainly not the case with the ACC school. It will certainly be interesting to see if Allen can win the starting job with Miami in the fall.

Damian Jackson in the CFL

Nebraska football fans likely remember Damian Jackson as the man who decided to come to play for the Huskers after serving as a Navy SEAL. While he didn’t get on the field all that much, he did still have a career that fans of the program followed closely.

Now Nebraska Cornhuskers fans will be able to follow Jackson just a little bit more. His agents announced on Monday that he’d signed a contract in the CFL with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
