Nebraska Football: Alante Brown could face off against former teammates this fall
Nebraska football could be facing one of their own when they take the field against a conference rival if things shake out exactly the right way.
Of course, that could actually mean things are shaking out exactly the wrong way from a Nebraska football standpoint. It would mean that Alante Brown, who entered the transfer portal earlier this month, decided on the Michigan State Spartans as his eventual landing spot.
Brown has had quite a few different teams come calling since he announced he was leaving the Huskers. For the most part, those teams have been Group of 5 level schools though. That’s why a recent offer from Michigan State certainly stands out.
For his part, the former Nebraska football wide receiver and special teams standout isn’t tipping his hand. When he announces a team offered, he doesn’t put any poetic language about how grateful he is or how excited the offer made him. Brown has been through this process before. It’s all business. He just wants his followers to know that he does indeed have another school interested.
Nebraska football squaring off against one of their own
If Alante Brown does decide that East Lansing is the best spot for him, it will certainly lead to an interesting face off on November 4. It’s a decent bet the game late in the season could be a make or break contest for both schools. Imagine if Brown ends up playing a big part in the Cornhuskers not going to a bowl game? Yikes.
Hopefully that’s not part of the matchup. Hopefully it can just be a game between Matt Rhule’s squad and a player that seemed like he was not particularly interested in the new regime from day one. And hopefully should Alante Brown decide that Michigan State is the best place for him, Nebraska football fans can just wish him luck with no ill will.
