Matt Rhule and his staff might not have any massive gets in 2024 yet but the Nebraska football team’s recruiting is impressing people.

Obviously, it means more if what Rhule and company are doing impresses recruits, but it’s not hard to see why making sure that recruiting experts see the Nebraska football program as one that is on the move as a good thing.

The recruiting world is rather circular. Whether it’s good talk, or bad talk, things tend to feed off one another. The Nebraska football head coach made that clear earlier this week when he talked about the negative recruiting that’s being done on the Huskers by bad-mouthing new receivers head coach Garret McGuire.

If negative recruiting mentions is something that the Huskers coaches are genuinely worried about, then it makes sense that positive recruiting comments like the one that Tom Lemming made earlier this week are celebrated. Lemming has long been one of the most well known recruiting experts in college football. While he’s more in the background than he used to be, he’s still a name that people who follow recruiting recognize. He’s still got a massive platform and when he says something positive about your program, people take notice.

So when Lemming credited Nebraska football as being one of his “big movers,” Husker fans should be excited about what’s coming.

"“Just finished an 11,000 mile Drive in three weeks visiting over 300 players and the school making the biggest move appears to be Nebraska. They were everywhere.”"

Lemming went on to explain he’s been putting out questionnaires to players all over the country and it appears those questionnaires came back with quite a bit of mention about the Huskers.

That shouldn’t be a complete surprise. The Nebraska football team has made inroads with big players like Dylan Raiola. He’s far from the only top players in the country in the 2024 class and beyond.

Even if the Nebraska football team doesn’t land Raiola and some of the other big names in this particular class, it’s apparent from Lemming’s comments that Rhule and company are having some success on the recruiting front in a big way.
