Nebraska Football Recruiting: Huskers trying to steal monster TE from Kansas State
Nebraska football recruiting is definitely keeping its collective eye on the 2025 class while also trying to shore up the 2024 class.
Indeed, when it comes to Nebraska football recruiting, most eyes are on Dylan Raiola and what he will do. But whether they land the 5-star quarterback or not, life will go on beyond his eventual commitment. It will even go on past his class and the Huskers are constantly working to make sure that the next class after Raiola’s are rolling right along as well. Part of those “future” efforts involve the recent offer to a Derby, Kansas tight end by the name of DaSaahn Brame.
Brame announced he had received an official offer from Matt Rhule and company on Saturday. It appears, by the way that this was not a trick and the monster tight end is indeed very much on the Nebraska football recruiting radar, in case you were wondering.
Now that the Huskers have their foot in the door, they are going to have their work cut out for them. Brame stands 6-foot-6 and weighs in at 225 pounds. With those numbers, it’s not surprising that there are more than a few major programs that are salivating about the idea of having a tight end that large as a target for their respective quarterbacks.
Nebraska football recruiting takes aim at DaSaahn Brame
Among the big programs that have already come calling for the Derby prospect is Oklahoma and Michigan. But Husker fans shouldn’t look past Wisconsin, Penn State, Kansas and Kansas State either.
Both programs in the Sunflower State have become bowl contenders on a fairly regular basis – at least we expect Kansas to continue to be a program that can win at least 6 a year – and that is going to make it harder for the Cornhuskers to mine the neighboring state for talent.
Considering that Nebraska football recruiting has already checked off a big box when it comes to an unofficial visit – he came in this weekend – it’s not clear what the next steps will be with Brame. Obviously, the Huskers will want to keep their foot in the door as the tight end’s recruitment rolls on.
