Nebraska Cornhuskers wide receiver Omar Manning has a young sibling that’s starting his college football career just as Omar’s wraps up.
It’s a safe bet that Manning didn’t have the kind of career with the Nebraska football team that he hoped he would. But pretty soon, it appears he’ll be able to live vicariously through his younger brother.
Jamuari Manning isn’t a particularly highly sought-after prospect in the 2024 class but he does have at least one offer from an FBS school. The younger manning recently got an offer from Lousiana Tech to play college ball with the Bulldogs.
Omar celebrated the official offer with a tweet of his own that read simply, “next in line.” It’s at this point it’s worth pointing out just how hard it is to actually play college football at the highest level. So it’s a safe bet that Omar is quite proud.

Other Nebraska Cornhuskers news
- A lot has been made of Matt Rhule’s comments about the Huskers’ Sunday scrimmage. I personally was a bit concerned at how easily every quarterback seemed to be able to run away from defenders. Sam McKewon took the angle that it’s certainly good to see the new head coach embracing quarterback runs being part of the offense.

- In Nebraska Cornhuskers track and field, Darius Luff had himself a very nice weekend. In fact, the athlete managed to set a school record.

- It was a less than happy weekend for the Huskers baseball and softball teams. Neither had the kind of stretch they would have liked. The baseball team split a Saturday double header that saw them lose yet another game it sure feels like they had no business losing. The Huskers handled Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 12-1 but then followed that up with a 5-3 loss. Next up for Will Bolt’s boys is a Tuesday night tilt against Kansas State.
- The Nebraska Cornhuskers softball team meanwhile, continued their Big Ten play but couldn’t quite handle Michigan. They ended up losing two of three over the weekend with their only victory being an 8-0, 5-inning affair on Saturday.
