The way that Nebraska football recruiting is zeroing in on Dylan Raiola seems to be making a big difference, according to those who know the quarterback.
The Nebraska football team just had its biggest weekend ever regarding recruiting. The number of high-value targets that were in Lincoln was absolutely eye-popping.
However, as has been the case since he recommitted from Ohio State, the focus by many recruiting experts was none other than Dyland Raiola, who was in Lincoln for what seems like his 100th unofficial visit to the Huskers.
Speaking about the weekend and how the Huskers seem to have done coming out of the recruiting showcase, Steve Wiltfong said some things about the 5-star quarterback that should make Husker fans’ hearts go pitter-pat.
In the latest installment of the Wiltfong Wraparound, 247Sports recruiting guru Steve Wiltfong spoke in depth about the past weekend for Nebraska football recruiting. He talked about the success that Matt Rhule and company are having in getting through to players when they have them in for these kinds of recruiting visits. And then he turned his attention specifically to Dylan Raiola.
Wiltfong first pointed out the visit was important for the top 2024 quarterback’s father, Dominic Raiola, who has a special relationship with Huskers’ AD Trev Alberts. But the recruiting whiz made it clear that these kinds of visits are special for Dylan too.
Wiltfong added that “people that spent time with Raiola this weekend in Lincoln, they just said that have been around him at other places say that there’s just a different kind of smile on his face when he’s at Nebraska.”
Wiltfong added that some people think that the Chandler, Arizona quarterback will end up with the Nebraska football team.
Nebraska football makes Dylan Raiola smile different
Wiltfong’s news in regards to raiola wasn’t all good news. He did also say that it appears the Georgia Bulldogs made some inroads with the quarterback in his last stop there. He also said that the Nebraska football top target is going to be taking even more visits.
He also seemed to hint that Raiola might not be making it back to Lincoln for the spring game, which was thought to be a big card the Huskers had up their sleeves.
What is clear is that there are more than a few people who believe that Dylan Raiola continues to hold Nebraska football in a special place in his heart. Here’s hoping that means he’ll eventually announce his commitment to the Huskers.
