Nebraska football recruiting efforts seem to be paying off regarding 4-star athlete Roger Gradney, who experts think is a Husker lean. At least one of the biggest recruiting experts out there believe that Matt Rhule and company have the inside track for the Garwood, Texas prospect.

There’s a couple of different reasons why Nebraska football recruiting zeroing in on Gradney is noteworthy. The first of course is that the Huskers are continuing to look quite good in regard to the state of Texas.

Nebraska football recruiting has been looking hard at getting back into the Lone Star state. Rhule and his staff had more commits in the 2023 class than Nebraska football recruiting efforts since the early 2000s.

The other interesting tidbit when it comes to Gradney is that despite being a 4-star athlete, he’s hardly someone who has gotten a ton of attention from other Power 5 programs. In fact, Nebraska is the only P5 school that’s given him an official offer. The other offers are from UTSA and Campbell.

Knowing that, it’s not a real surprise that the Cornhuskers are the front runners.

Considering that Gradney doesn’t have a ton of teams that are currently in pursuit for him, there is a question of just when the athlete might be pulling the trigger.

It’s possible he’s doing to wait around and see if other schools are going to make him an official offer. Nebraska football recruiting is also still looking for its first commitment of the 2024 class. It’s possible they’ll be pushing hard for him to pull the trigger so that they can get over that first commitment hump.

Now that Steve Wiltfong from 247Sports entered that crystal ball for Nebraska football recruiting, it will certainly be interesting to see if he’ll keep his high percentage in tact.
