The Nebraska Cornhuskers basketball team pulled off another big win in the Big Ten while a former Husker is rolling with the Tide.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers basketball team showed some real domination on the hardwood Tuesday night. Some might even call it domi-knighting, if those people were me.

The Huskers looked like the better team right from the beginning of the game against Rutgers and really looked like a team Nebraska fans have been begging for since Fred Hoiberg arrived in Lincoln.

Yes, Rutgers is a different team than it was with the top player on the floor. Yes, they’ve lost three straight games now with the 82-72 defeat to the Huskers. And yes, NU is still just 13-14 on the season. Still, there’s reason for optimism on Wednesday morning when looking at what Fred Hoiberg and his team are putting together.

Other Nebraska Cornhuskers news

Former Husker assistant coach Kevin Steele has had a long and winding career. There were plenty of times when Nebraska football fans wanted Steele to come back to Lincoln in some capacity. It doesn’t appear that’s ever going to be in the cards. He’s now reached the pinnacle of his profession. He’s going to be the defensive coordinator for the Alabama Crimson Tide. He’s one of those guys that Husker fans can root for, even if they hate Alabama.

Speaking of the old-time Husker teams, former Oklahoma Sooners’ head coach Barry Switzer made it clear that the Nebraska Cornhuskers teams he squared off against are still sticking in his craw. That’s especially the case when it comes to the 1978 Huskers.

When it comes to the Nebraska Cornhuskers softball team, they finished off one heck of a weekend. The Huskers ended up going 4-1 in their first five games of the season. In addition to that success, Senior Courtney Wallace was named the Big Ten Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon. This marks Wallace’s first time winning the pitcher-of-the-week.
