The Nebraska Cornhuskers volleyball team lost another player due to transfer, while the basketball teams had very different couple of days.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers volleyball team has had an interesting off season. It’s all the more interesting because it shows that even some of the best teams in the country are going to be hard pressed to keep their rosters in tact in the era of NIL and the transfer portal.

This weekend, former Nebraska Cornhuskers volleyball setter Anni Evans announced she was headed to warmer climes. She’ll be playing her final two college sports seasons with the University of San Diego.

Evans played in 27 matches this past season and averaged 4.37 assists per set and 1.78 digs.

This move is just the latest way in which the Nebraska Cornhuskers volleyball team will have to try and rebuild after a tough end to the season.

Other Nebraska Cornhuskers news

The Nebraska women’s basketball team might have ended its chase for an at-large bid earlier this week. Amy Williams’ squad lost to an Illinois team that certainly isn’t an embarrassing defeat, but they likely needed to upend the Illini to keep their tourney hopes alive. Now sitting at 14-10 and 6-7 in the Big Ten, their room for error has been whittled down to “tiny.”

It’s been a busy and successful start to the season for the Nebraska Cornhuskers softball team. They’ve already played four games since their season started two days ago and they’re slated for a fifth on Sunday afternoon. So far, the team is 3-1 and the pitching has been superb. In fact, the Huskers’ softball team has allowed one run so far this season. Unfortunately that one run came in the same game where Nebraska was shutout, hence the 3-1 record so far. After two wins against Lamar and a victory against Houston, the Nebraska Cornhuskers softball team will finish off the weekend against the Virginia Cavaliers.
