Big Ten women’s tournament schedule, location, dates & how to watch (with & without cable)
The Big Ten women’s conference tournament is right around the corner as the regular season starts to head to the finish line.
With March Madness right around the corner, the Big Ten conference is getting closer and closer to crowning its women’s basketball champion. In fact, crowing a champion in women’s basketball is a bit closer as the tournament will start a bit earlier than the men’s tourney.
Big Ten Women’s tournament schedule
The women’s conference tournament will kick off on March 1 at 1PM with the bottom four seeds facing off against one another in what is basically a play-in round.
On Thursday, March 2 the tourney tips off for real. The games will then run through Sunday, March 5 in the championship game. This schedule will allow those who think they punched their NCAA Tournament tickets to sit and wait for a full week before they find out if they’re right.
When does the Big Ten women’s tournament take place?
While the men’s tournament is being held in Chicago at the United Center, the women’s side is going to have its tournament at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Being held at the Target allows the conference to showcase its teams as Nebraska basketball and the rest will be fighting for their postseason lives.
How to watch the women’s tournament
To some degree, the broadcast schedule for the women is similar to what the conference is doing for the men’s tournament. That means that the first few rounds will be on BTN. Those who don’t want to watch through cable can get BTN on a number of streaming services, including Fubo TV or the Fox Sports App.
When the Big Ten women’s tournament reaches its final stage, it will be broadcast on another network. ESPN will host that championship game, though as of now its not clear whether the game will be on regular ESPN or one of its offshoot channels.
