While the Nebraska Cornhuskers baseball team has just a few days until their season starts, Will Bolt and his staff are doing some real work when it comes to recruiting. It looks as though the 2024 class is going to be one that is once again pretty special.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers baseball team has seen a massive influx of commits and that influx continued on Monday when Kayden Anderson announced he was committing to the Huskers.

Anderson, who hails from Glenwood, Iowa had a remarkable 2022 season where he hit .482 with six home runs and 31 RBI. It would appear that he’ll be playing shortstop for the Nebraska baseball team as he’s been playing that position since the 8th grade.

The newest commit is a heck of a get for Bolt and company considering that PerfectGame rates him as someone who is already a Top 10-round draft pick. One has to wonder if that means the Nebraska baseball team will have to fight against MLB in order to get him to Lincoln.

Other Nebraska Cornhuskers news

The Nebraska women’s basketball team has officially revived its chances at the NCAA tournament, though they almost found a way to blow it. After snapping a two-game losing streak against Michigan State, they faced off against Northwestern on Sunday night. The Nebraska Cornhuskers managed to build a big lead but then had to stave off a comeback before eventually winning 78-66. Improving to 14-9, the Huskers are smack dab in the middle of the Big Ten standings and they also seemed to have found a way to win despite some injuries weighing them down.

Former Nebraska Cornhuskers stars Tony Veland and Gina Mancuso were elected to the Omaha Hall of Fame this weekend. Veland of course was a defensive star for the Nebraska football team from 1992 to 1995. Mancuso was a star for the Huskers volleyball team from 2009 to 2012.
