The Nebraska Cornhuskers football team released the salaries of two of the newest staff members of Matt Rhule. This sort of thing is always interesting for no reason other than comparing the new coaches’ salaries to the previous staff.

There’s the added interest level because of the amount of money Rhule was given to fill out his staff. Of course, we’ve already seen that he’s not spending that cash in the traditional way. He’s spreading it around a bit more than we’ve seen before.

On Thursday, the Nebraska Cornhuskers football team released the salaries of both wide receivers’ coach Garrett McGuire and linebackers’ coach Rob Dvoracek. Both coaches are going to be earning $285,000 in 2023.

Those terms being released means that only Bob Wager’s salary hasn’t been released yet. Considering how long ago McGuire and Dvoracek were hired, it seems as though Wager’s wages will be kept under wraps for a few more weeks at least.

  • While the football team has released what McGuire and Dvoracek are making, the team added another recruiting staffer. This time around it’s Gus Felder who has joined the program behind the scenes. Felder has been around college football for a while now. He’ll take over the job as Huskers’ executive director of player development. He was previously with Rhule at Carolina and has also worked under Mark Richt when they were both at Georgia as well as Miami.
  • While the 1890 Initiative has mostly been signing football players to NIL deals, new Nebraska volleyball player Harper Murray signed with the NIL collective on Friday. At the very least, this deal makes it clear Matt Davison and company think Murray is someone who can make some serious cash and get some serious attention with the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
  • While the Nebraska basketball team’s season is spiraling out of control and the Nebraska football season is officially over, the Nebraska baseball season is just starting. Will Bolt’s fourth season officially kicked off on Friday with a practice outdoors thanks to the last warm day of the month.
