With National Signing Day 2023 right around the corner, the 2023 recruiting class for Nebraska football and so many other schools has almost wrapped up. The fact of the matter is that the early signing days in December have taken some punch out of the later signing period.
There was a time when there was only one National Signing Day, and back then, it had a bit more “oomph” behind it. There was the fact that people had to wait and see where players would sign.
It was also a day quite a bit like the new December signing day where the Nebraska football team and schools like it would suddenly have 20-plus players officially part of the team. National Signing Day 2023 is still a big day for the Nebraska Cornhuskers as it finishes up its first class under Matt Rhule.
National Signing Day 2023 is taking place on February 1 and the Huskers will have a few players that are still out there that will officially sign their letters of intent.
Much like early signing day, players can sign and send in their NLIs any time after midnight on February 1, though most of them aren’t going to send in those letters until at least the sun has come up on the day.
The good news is that the Cornhuskers will have several players added to their roster. At the moment, the number of commits that have come in the last week or two alone are going to be very big additions to the squad.
Players like Demitrius Bell committed to the Nebraska football team but did so after the early signing period was over. However that means that Bell won’t officially join the Cornhuskers until the February 1 National Signing Day 2023.
And that means there are still going to be some things for Husker fans to watch just to make sure everything falls into place for Rhule and company.
