The Nebraska Cornhuskers football team has been on a real roll of late. On Tuesday afternoon, Matt Rhule and company scored another recruiting win with the commitment of 4-star wide receiver Demitrius Bell.

The 6’1 175 WR from Nashville chose the Nebraska Cornhuskers over Alabama, Ole Miss, Georgia, and Kentucky among dozens of other offers. Bell is yet another kid who wasn’t really looking at the Huskers until Matt Rhule and his staff landed in Lincoln.

In announcing his commitment to the Huskers, the team marked the fourth commit in just two days. His pledge comes on the heels of a three-commit day that included Georgia transfer Jacob Hood.

With Bell’s announcement, it seems likely that the Huskers are just about done when it comes to recruiting the 2023 class.

  • The Nebraska football team has another wide receiver signed to an NIL contract. Josh Fleeks is the latest to sign a deal with the 1890 Initiative.
  • Former defensive backs coach Travis Fischer has found himself a new home. It turns out that he’s going to be on the Syracuse defensive staff. That’s an interesting turn of events considering that the Orangemen lost their defensive coordinator to the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
  • Some Husker fans might remember Luke McCaffrey as a quarterback who some thought might actually take the starting job away from Adrian Martinez. Instead, he ended up struggling, then leaving Nebraska, and eventually ended up at Rice. It turns out that was apparently for the best, considering he was just named the Owls’ offensive player of the year for the 2022 season after logging 58 catches for 723 yards and six touchdowns. He also had 12 carries for 148 yards and a touchdown.
