Nebraska football recruiting is rolling right along at a rather ridiculous pace these days. As the Huskers head towards the early signing period, Matt Rhule and his staff have been locking in commits left and right. That includes Mason Goldman, who happens to be the third commit to announce their pledge to the Cornhuskers on Monday alone.
Goldman stands out from the other players that announced they were going to come to Lincoln to play because he’s another in-state prospect. When Rhule arrived in town, he made it clear that it was going to be important for Nebraska football recruiting to lock down the state. While he doesn’t have a 100 percent success rate just yet, he’s hard quite a bit of success since last Friday in particular.
Goldman, an offensive tackle from Gretna, joins a pair of Omaha Westside players who pledged to the Huskers over the weekend in Tristan Alvano and Jaylen Lloyd.
Goldman is also one that Rhule has been working quite hard on since he was hired as the Nebraska football head coach. For a while, it looked like the offensive lineman might be leaning elsewhere but on Monday, he made it clear he wanted to be a Husker. His commitment was a welcome site for Nebraska fans, and they could hardly contain their excitement on social media.
Nebraska football recruiting followers have been pointing to Mason Goldman as one of those gets that would show just how well Rhule and his assistants are really doing. They felt that way mainly because he seemed to be one that was willing to take it slow and really check things out.
However, he ended up feeling as though the Nebraska football team is where he wants to spend his foreseeable career. The big question now is how many more will follow his lead.
