The Nebraska Cornhuskers football team saw yet another player enter the transfer portal on Thursday. While it’s never great to see Husker players decide they need to leave it feels like Jaquez Yant transferring was close to a foregone conclusion.

Yant has had an interesting time with the Nebraska Cornhuskers. There have been weeks where he looked like the best back on the team.

However, there were other weeks when it felt like the staff had completely forgotten that he was a member of the football team. It seems as if Yant might be one of the players that was hurt the most by a steady stream of incompetence and change while he was a member of the Huskers. Now he’ll look for a situation that is more stable. Yant finishes his career in Lincoln with 350 yards and 3 TDs.

The Huskers found their defensive coordinator on Thursday. It wasn’t the guy many were expecting but former Syracuse DC Tony White is considered an up-and-comer in the college football world. His defense is credited with getting the Orangemen back to a bowl for the first time in four years.

In a sad bit of news, the Nebraska Cornhuskers volleyball team saw its season come to an end. The Huskers looked to be in control of their Sweet 16 match against Oregon. However, some unforced errors stopped them from winning in four sets and then they dropped the fifth. It was a disappointing ending to a season that started with a ton of promise. Still, it’s quite the statement on John Cook’s performance that losing in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament is seen as a letdown.

College Football News

Jason Garrett might be the head coach of the Stanford Cardinal. Yes, the former Dallas Cowboys’ head coach wants to come to the college ranks to take over for David Shaw.

West Virginia quarterback JT Daniels is in the transfer portal again. He’s been at USC, Georgia and then West Virginia. And he might still get two more years of college ball.
