Nebraska Football vs. Wisconsin predictions and odds for Week 12
The Nebraska football team faces quite a conundrum on Saturday morning. The Wisconsin Badgers have likely never been weaker since the Huskers joined the Big Ten than they are this year. The only problem is that the Huskers have likely never been weaker since joining the Big Ten than they are this week.
The Cornhuskers are down Casey Thompson again. That almost seems like a certainty. They’re also down their second-string quarterback, and according to interim head coach Mickey Joseph, their third-string quarterback, Logan Smothers is also hurt.
Even if Smothers is somehow healthy this week, he’s still the third string quarterback on an offense that has been as inefficient as damn near any Nebraska football offense has ever been.
On the other hand, the Wisconsin Badgers’ offense has been far from a power this year. The defense hasn’t been anywhere near as good as it has been in the past either. There’s a reason a 5-5 Wisconsin is taking on a 3-7 Nebraska squad.
There’s also a reason that the Badgers are also being led by an interim head coach. The matchup against Wiscy isn’t one of two teams vying for a Big Ten West title. It’s a battle of two teams struggling toward the finish line. For JIm Leonhard’s team, it’s about still trying to get to a bowl. For Mickey Joseph and company, it’s about playing for pride.
Nebraska football vs. Wisconsin Odds Week 12
Despite being at home and on Senior Day, the Huskers are currently 13.5-point dogs on FanDuel and 13-point dogs on WynnBet. It’s a safe … bet .. that both services are seeing a Huskers team down to a third string, banged-up quarterback not being able to put up much of a fight.
Those same services aren’t seeing a ton of points get put up, considering the total at the moment is 40.5 on FanDuel and 40 on WynnBet.
Nebraska football vs. Wisconsin Prediction Week 12
It’s easy to say that the Huskers might be able to cover what is a pretty big spread against Wisconsin, but they were more than 30-point dogs to Michigan last week and failed to cover. However, a lack of offense on either side seems like a low scoring, one touchdown game could be in the offing. Something like the Nebraska football team losing 17-10 doesn’t seem out of the question.
