The Nebraska football team is going to have the toughest fight of its season on Saturday afternoon when the Huskers take on the Michigan Wolverines. It shouldn’t come as any kind of a surprise that the Cornhuskers are expected to lose and lose by quite a few points.

After all, the Huskers are coming off three straight losses to teams that are likely going bowling but certainly aren’t considered powerhouse programs. The Wolverines absolutely are a powerhouse program. They may in fact, end up being one of the best teams in the country.

Michigan’s season is once again setting up to be defined by how they do against Ohio State. For now, the Nebraska football team is seen as little more than a bit of a bump in the road. That’s especially the case since the Huskers are having issues deciding who should play at quarterback on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Wolverines, who have had their own QB controversies over the years, are set at that position and at running back where they have a Heisman candidate in Blake Corum. Corum has over 1,000 yards rushing and 16 touchdowns. He’s also averaging 6.0 yards per carry.

All of that, combined with a defense that’s among the best in the country translates to a team that is going to be quite hard to beat for the Huskers. That would be why they are the level of heavy underdog they are for Saturday’s game.

Best Nebraska football bets Week 11

Michigan opened as a 29 point favorite over the Huskers and earlier this week had expanded that spread to 29.5 points. As of now, the Wolverines are even bigger favorites as both FanDuel and WynnBet see the Huskers as 30 point underdogs.

While the Nebraska football team has struggled this year, especially in the last three weeks, it still feels like a nearly five-touchdown win by Michigan will be hard to come by.

On the other hand, it feels as if the 48.5 total that both sites are currently sporting is something that could be eclipsed fairly easily.

I see the final Nebraska football score being somewhere in the neighborhood of 42-14 in favor of Jim Harbaugh’s boys.
