The Nebraska football team has quite the showdown against Purdue on Saturday night. It turns out that the winner of this game has a bit of an inside track on the Big Ten West leadership, while the loser would become a long shot to win the division.

While I said that last week’s game against Rutgers might have been the biggest game of the year, there’s very little doubt that this contest is a big one for Mickey Joseph and company.

Support behind Mickey is only growing with every win. Should he find a way to knock off the Boilermakers, I’ve got to think that there is going to be a real push to take the “interim” tag out of his head coach title.

That is, of course, getting ahead of things. The Nebraska football team has to win before people can start talking about what to do with Mickey Joseph next year and beyond. One thing’s for sure, the game on Saturday is going to be one to watch. So how do you tune in?

Nebraska football weather update

It looks like the contest between the Huskers and the Boilermakers is going to be played in perfect football weather. The fall weather is officially here and when the two teams square off it appears that it’s going to be a big chilly. You can keep track of the weather here.

Nebraska football vs. Purdue odds

The Huskers are 13.5-point underdogs as of Friday night and it turns out that when they are double-digit dogs, they tend to lose. In fact, it’s been 17 years since Nebraska actually won a game they entered as this big a dog.

The loss to Oklahoma earlier this year means they’re 0-1 in 2022. Can they overcome it this week? Nebraska football fans are hoping so.
