Nebraska Football Recruiting: Is Mason Goldman getting a Husker offer?
The Nebraska football recruiting efforts have ramped up to a ridiculous degree. Mickey Joseph and his staff have been dishing out offer after offer the last few weeks, and they’ve been the first to offer more than one player in the state of Nebraska as part of that effort.
Despite what has been a busy few weeks for Nebraska football recruiting, it’s still hard to get a read on which direction the coaching staff is aiming. Certainly, offensive linemen have been a focus, but that makes the fact that an offer has not been forthcoming for Mason Goldman that much more perplexing.
To be fair, Mason Goldman is still an under-the-radar player when it comes to recruiting services. 247Sports has him rated as a 3-star prospect, but he’s not yet rated in the composite rankings. That site considers him the 10th best player in the state for the 2023 class. He’s also the 88th-ranked offensive tackle in the cycle.
While Nebraska football recruiting has overlooked him so far, the offensive tackle hasn’t been overlooked by everyone. In fact, he’s now even gotten an offer from Missouri. The Tigers aren’t the first Power 5 school to come calling, either.
Goldman also has an offer from the Kansas Jayhawks. Considering that Nebraska football fans are clamoring for KU’s head coach, it would seem there’s reason to trust his judgment. But so far, the Huskers haven’t come calling.
So now we sit and wait and wonder what the 6-foot-6, 240-pound lineman doesn’t have that Mickey Joseph and company are looking for in players they are looking to get on scholarship. It’s possible it’s as simple as they haven’t liked what they’ve seen from film and maybe even in person.
It’s also possible it’s just a matter of time, especially now that other teams are coming calling even more. The answer to the question of whether the Nebraska football team is going to offer Mason Goldman is still one that hasn’t been answered and may not be until December.
