Adrian Martinez may not be with the Nebraska football team anymore but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t think about the Huskers anymore. One of the reasons he still has warm thoughts about his time in Lincoln is because he honestly thinks what he learned with NU has helped prepare him for the NFL, should he get the shot to play at the next level.

Martinez talked about his feelings about Nebraska shortly after his first game with his new team in Kansas State. He opened the season with a victory as someone who was less the focal point of the offense and more a game manager, but he despite that changed role he still thinks that if he makes the next level there is a lot he’ll credit Nebraska football and Nebraska football fans in particular for helping prepare him.

"“I think it just speaks to how relevant (Nebraska) is and how passionate people are about it. I have nothing negative to say about that, but it is kind of nuts. … If I were to get the privilege to be able to play at the next level, I’d be well prepared for any sort of media situation I could encounter.”"

Speaking to the Omaha World-Herald, Martinez made it clear that even if things were “kind of nuts” when he was with the Nebraska football team, he’ll be rooting for them constantly.

He added that there are plenty of people on the Huskers that he’ll be friends with for the rest of his life. While some might have thought his exit from NU was troubled, he doesn’t appear to have any hard feelings for his former program.

It helps that unless both teams get to a bowl game, Adrian Martinez won’t have to try and beat the Nebraska football team in his final collegiate season.
