While the Nebraska football team was taking care of business against North Dakota, its coaching staff kept one eye on the future. Once the smoke had cleared from an emotional and sometimes terrifying day, the Huskers had a brand new offer out.
Scott Frost and company had several visitors in Lincoln to watch the Cornhuskers’ 21-point victory over the Fighting Hawks. One of those visitors – Jaden Reddell – went back home with a brand new offer from Nebraska.
The 2024 tight end out of Kansas City was in town with Raymore-Peculiar high teammate Jaidyn Doss, who just happens to be a Nebraska football commit for the 2023 class. That could be one of the reasons why the Huskers are already considered as top contender for the services of Reddell.
Rated as a 3-star recruit by 247Sports, the 6-foot-4 pass catcher is getting quite a bit more attention from some very big schools. In addition to Missouri, Colorado State and Tennesee, Reddell actually grabbed two new offers on Saturday.
The tight end garnered an official offer from the Nebraska football team, and right about the same time, the Oregon Ducks came calling as well.
While there are some big schools that the Huskers will have to overcome, On3 has the Cornhuskers as one of the top candidates to land the 2024 prospect. At the moment, it looks like it’s going to be a horserace between Missouri and NU.
At the moment, there’s no telling when Reddell is going to pull the trigger on a commitment. The prospect has some time, considering he’s a member of the 2024 class. That may also give him some time to build up his profile with other Power 5 teams, both in football and baseball.
The Nebraska football prospect is also a talented baseball player where he plays both the outfield and pitches.
