Nebraska football got another commitment for its 2023 class in the form of 4-star EDGE Cameron Lenhardt. He marks the 14th commit in the Huskers 2023 class.

The IMG Academy product is also just the third 4-star prospect in the Cornhuskers’ most recent class, going by On3.com ratings. The EDGE is the 31st ranked player at his position according to 247Sports and the 53rd ranked player in the state of Florida.

Nebraska football fans have been nervously chomping at the big over Lenhardt for several months now once the Huskers started to be considered one of the front runners. It’s been a bit of a roller coaster ride up to today, especially when there was talk that he was starting to lean towards Auburn.

However, the prospect ended up not taking that trip, and things began to get a bit clearer on the Huskers’ front. When he announced last week that he was going to be picking his school on Thursday night, there seemed to be more than a little momentum for NU.

Lenhardt’s addition beefs up what has already been an impressive recruiting cycle on the defense side of the ball. One of the other two 4-star prospects play along the defensive line as well in Texas’ Riley Van Poppel.

Of course, there’s a long time between now and national signing day in December. Nebraska football will still have a fight on its hands in regards to keeping Cameron Lenhardt in the fold.
