Nebraska football fans’ long wait is finally over.

No, the Huskers’ first game of the season is still two weeks away.

However, while we’re all waiting for kickoff, we can finally enjoy the SOS Heating & Cooling ad that features Nebraska football freshman wide receiver DeColdest Crawford as the official pitchman.

Since news of this advertisement (made possible thanks to the still relatively new rules surrounding NIL rights and college football players) the prevailing opinion is that the combination of an air conditioning repair service and a player named DeColdest Crawford was the definition of a match made in heaven.

Now the ad has finally hit the web and to the surprise of no one, it has set social media ablaze.

It took no time at all for the video to start trending on Twitter with people all over the country weighing in on how much they loved the ad and the choice of player to be the man at the center of things.

It wasn’t just Nebraska football fans and media that noticed and celebrated the ad either. National college football writer Nicole Auerbach was one of the first to extend her congratulation to the new Husker star.

BarStool Sports weighed in saying that whatever the Cornhuskers’ freshman is making for the ad, isn’t nearly enough.

Sportsgrid’s Ben Stevens joked that Crawford needed an award for his one big line.

And finally, more than a few Twitter users pointed out that while the Nebraska football star was the one getting all the accolades on social media, the company that inked him to his NIL deal was likely plenty happy to see things explode they way they did on Monday night.

This little heartwarming story does have a rather somber twist. It was announced late last week that Crawford suffered a knee injury in practice that was deemed “serious.”

While head coach Scott Frost wouldn’t go into detail on just what the injury was, there are rumors flying around the web that it’s a torn ACL, which would almost certainly keep the receiver on the sideline for the season.

If Crawford isn’t able to take the field alongside his teammates this fall, at least he’ll know that he’s already one of the most famous and beloved Nebraska football players on this year’s squad.
