While the Nebraska football team is deeply engaged in getting ready for the 2022 season, it’s coaches are also still busy looking to add plenty of talent to the defensive side of the ball. On Thursday afternoon, those efforts included an official offer being issued to Iowa Western C.C. defensive lineman Quientrail Jamison-Travis.

The offer is certainly an interesting one considering that it also marks the first offer that Jamison Travis has received this cycle from an FBS school. While the defensive lineman apparently has some interest in the Minnesota Golden Gophers but so far, they haven’t given him a scholarship offer.

While the 6-4, 280-pound defender has run under the radar for the most part in the eyes of FBS programs, he did post a pretty decent 2021 season at Iowa Western. Jamison-Travis was third on the Reivers in tackles a year ago with 45 and was also third on the team in sacks with two.

Perhaps one of the stats that should raise a few eyebrows is that he actually led the team in pass breakups with six. That would seem to indicate that the Nebraska football team is going after a defensive lineman that is well aware of what’s going on around him, even if he’s not always getting to the quarterback.

As of now, Jamison-Travis hasn’t made his plans known from here, such as when or if he’s going to be joining the Nebraska football program. The timing of this offer certainly seems to indicate he’s a player to keep an eye on.

Nebraska football fans might remember the Huskers just added some defensive depth in the secondary this month in the form of former Florida State and UCF corner Brandon Moore. Moore’s arrival so late in the summer raised a few eyebrows.
