Nebraska football added the third commit to its 2022 recruiting class in the form of tight end Chase Androff, who hails from Lakeville, Minnesota. Androff, a three-star recruit per 247 Sports, committed to Nebraska on Monday. He tweeted the news out Monday evening and this is a big win for Nebraska!

Androff joins linebacker Ernestt Hausmann and receiver Victor Jones Jr. as the Huskers’ 2022 commits. They hadn’t received a yes from a recruit since Jones did so on April 1 so this made the occasion even bigger for Nebraska. He’s their third commit for the 2022 class since Hausmann committed on March 7.

Fortunately, Androff was already familiar with Nebraska, as his sister attended school in Lincoln and he had gone to camps at Nebraska. When he visited the program, he was able to spend one-on-one time with tight ends coach Sean Beckton, Scott Frost, and fellow Lakeville native Bryce Benhart, who is an offensive lineman for the Huskers.

This info was all mentioned in Brian Christopherson’s article about Androff’s commitment on 247 Sports. He included this quote from Androff in his article:

"“What stood out was how well it was put together,” Androff said after his visit. “Everything was very professional and on time.”"

Nebraska football added another commit to their 2022 recruiting class.

There’s still a lot of work to do moving forward but landing Androff gives the Huskers depth at tight end moving forward. Nebraska was the only Power-5 school that recruited Androff with the other programs interested being Buffalo, Central Michigan, Colorado State, and Dartmouth.

Nebraska’s 2022 class isn’t much to write home about as of now, ranking No. 58 in the nation and No. 12 in the Big Ten. Of course, having just three commits is why the rankings are on the lower side, and Nebraska had a top 20 class last year while ranking fifth in the Big Ten.

Hopefully, Androff is the first of many recruits to come for the Huskers but it might take some time, as we saw happen between Jones and him both making the decision to come to Lincoln.

In the meantime, welcome to Nebraska, Chase! Husker fans are excited to watch you play on Saturdays.
