You’ve heard me talk about new Nebraska football wide receiver Samori Toure quite a bit. Now, it appears that his teammates are really starting to take notice of what he can do.

As part of the overhauled wide receiver unit for Nebraska football, he will certainly be a part of the equation. I’ve talked about his explosiveness and the threat that he brings in the downfield passing game. Honestly, one of the biggest concerns I have when it comes to him is how he will adjust to the Nebraska football offense. It seems as if the offense itself is a great fit for him, and I have no questions in regards to fit. it it’s more just about initially learning the playbook.

As it stands right now, it seems like he is adjusting pretty well to what the offense wants to do. His teammate Levi Falck talked to the media earlier in the week, and he sang the praises of Torre. He seemed extremely impressed with what the wide receiver could do, and Falck particularly made note of the speed in his game.

The speed component is what intrigues me the most. Nebraska football did not have a speedy wide receiver last year, and having the combination of a deep threat and a fast wideout could do wonders for this Nebraska offense. The fact that he is a veteran is important as well, and I will be intrigued to see how that will benefit the Nebraska football offense come the fall. I’m willing to betit will be quite the benefit.

In the meantime, Falck is just impressed with what he has seen so far over the course of spring practices. Quite frankly, it measures up to what I thought we were going to get with Toure.

"“He’s really good,” Falck said with a smile on Monday. “He’s really fast, can play the ball in the air. I played against him at South Dakota when he was at Montana and I think he put up like 200 yards on us. I’m glad he’s on our team now.”"

Falk was also quick to note that a new playbook may trip him up at the beginning.

"“The challenge is just the new lingo,” Falck said. “I know he kind of ran a similar offense at Montana, but they call everything different. Some of the same words are going to mean different things, so it’s just deciphering quick. He knows the offense really well, it’s just about moving fast, and he’s even doing a good job of that now.”"

It sounds like the buzz surrounding him when he announced he was transferring to the program was warranted. I personally really liked him from the highlights I saw, but it’s another thing for his teammates to vouch for him as well. That to me is a good sign.

Hopefully, this will translate to success in the fall. One thing is for sure, he is certainly making a good first impression.
