Nebraska Football: Victor Jones Jr. key weapon for 2022 class
Nebraska football was able to land a commitment on Thursday afternoon from 2022 three-star wide receiver Victor Jones Jr.
The Florida native is the 126th overall wide receiver in the 2022 class, and 129th overall player in his class from the state of Florida per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. Nebraska beat out the likes of Arkansas, Buffalo, Cincinnati, and FIU.

In addition to being a shifty receiver like I wrote about back in January, he also had a good amount of strength. Re-watching his highlights, he is very good at running with the football after the catch. He has speed, and displayed it prominently in the receiving game as well as the kick return game. Measuring in at 6-foot-2, 184 pounds, he is able to run over his defenders with ease. He has a unique mix of strength and speed that should be able to help the Nebraska football wide receiver group.
As mentioned above, he is 6-foot-2. This fits and with what Nebraska football has been trying to do the last couple of classes. Size has been important at this position for Nebraska football. Jones certainly has a good amount of length as well. Getting tall playmakers is something that Nebraska has focused on. They seem to have transitioned away from trying to land small receivers. This is something I have always been a fan of, as I believe taller receivers are more important to the game of football now more than ever.

I was getting worried about slow momentum in the Nebraska football 2022 class. This is why I believe this second commitment for the class is big. In addition to Ernest Hausmann, Jones is a huge get. Currently, the Nebraska 2022 class ranks 56th nationally and the last overall in the Big Ten. I am not too worried about those numbers, as I believe Nebraska will be adding to this class on a bit over the next couple of months. We will have to see how it plays out.
This is a huge get for Nebraska and the offense. Hopefully, this will give them momentum as they try to keep building this class. There is a lot of talent in the 2022 class, and Nebraska football needs to capitalize on it. Winning football games will certainly help them do that, and with the talent they have 2021 class, as well as who is already on the roster, that is certainly an achievable goal.
