As Nebraska football spring practices begin to get underway, we are beginning to hear from some of the veteran players on the roster. One of those players is JoJo Domann. The senior linebacker just seems to “get it.”

He recorded 58 tackles and two forced fumbles in what was a difficult season for everybody last year. Even when the chips were down at times last year, he remained a dependable mainstay for the linebacker group. Now, with that veteran group of linebackers returning, he looks to lead the charge for not only that group but for the rest of the roster.

In talking to the media earlier in the week, he had a very interesting quote that I thought embodied him both as a person and as a player. I’ve always thought of him as a leader. Ever sense I’ve began covering the Nebraska football team for the site, I have always seen him over the course of the games being so active. He flies to the football and seems to know how the play develops. He is truly fascinating to watch, and I can’t wait to watch him for one final time in 2021.

Earlier this week, he delivered a quote that I thought was very indicative of what type of a leader he could be. He really understands that what he does will impact the future of Nebraska football. I feel like he understands what building a culture for Nebraska football is all about. To me, that is extremely important. You can just tell what kind of legacy he wants to leave by this particular quote.

I’ll be interested to see what he does this season. I certainly have high expectations for him, and I believe he can meet them. He has been one of the most consistent players on defense for quite some time now. I am happy that most of the defensive players are coming back but I am particularly happy he is coming back as well. He is the glue that holds this Nebraska defense together, and he is ready to have a big year. this quote exemplifies that. He knows what it takes to be a Blackshirt.
