Nebraska Football: Bill Moos talks potential Spring Game capacity

We have attendance estimates for the Nebraska football spring game.

You heard me talk a little bit on Wednesday about how Nebraska football and the rest of Nebraska Athletics plan to allow fans to spectate competition very soon.

In a radio appearance on Wednesday, Nebraska athletic director Bill Moos put a number on the amount of fans that could potentially be at the spring game in May.

In speaking on his radio appearance on Wednesday night, he was able to give some details into what capacity could potentially look like. Let me just say, in my opinion, the numbers are certainly in the favor of the fans.

People want to see what this Nebraska football team will look like for the 2021 season. There is a lot of optimism, and yet also a lot of trepidation because of the difficulty of Nebraska’s schedule.

Right now, the plan is for 50% capacity. However, Moos could see that number increasing.

"“That could increase and we think as high as 75 percent,” Moos said."

In addition to attendance estimations for the spring game, he also indicated that season-ticket holders as well as donors will get first priority for getting spring game tickets when they go on sale April 1.

To me, it sounds like getting tickets for the spring game may be a little bit difficult. You can bet that with the way Nebraska football fans love their team, everybody is going to try to get in on the action. I don’t blame them at all, I would be doing the same thing. With the attendance limits, it will be interesting to see how high the demand will be and how many fans will actually be able to get their hands on a pair of tickets.

Either way, it will be exciting for fans to be able to attend the spring game. What attendance figures will look like at this time still seems a bit uncertain. However, it sounds like there will be fans there to cheer on the football team. This could be a big year on the gridiron. I feel like I say that every year. However, there is a certain level of optimism when it comes to this team and the moves that they made this offseason.

Perhaps the bottom line is, this news means that football season is  getting closer. It’s exciting to think about, even though we are still a little bit away in theory. As for now, the waiting continues.
