Nebraska football is getting busy recruiting the Midwest.

Nebraska football has been busy in the last couple of days in terms of recruiting, as they extend offers to the 2022 and 2023 classes. Earlier this week, they extended an offer to 2023 wide receiver Jaidyn Doss.  ($)

Doss is not ranked in either the 247Sports Composite or regular rankings. In addition to Nebraska, he has a couple of other solid offers on the table. Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, and Missouri have all extended offers his way.

When I watch his highlights, I am very impressed with what I see. For starters, he has a good burst of speed as soon as the ball is snapped. Once the ball is snapped, he runs his route cleanly, and is able to sneak by the defender with ease. He is very good at running after the catch, and I would argue that is his best strength in terms of his game.

Measuring in at 6 feet, 195 pounds, the Peculiar,  Missouri native will certainly see his stock grow. I could see his game translating very well to the collegiate ranks. He is the type of receiver that college programs are looking for. He can make plays happen with the football, and can also run after the catch.

Currently, Nebraska football has no commitments in the 2023 class. This is obviously no cause for alarm, as I would expect Scott Frost and the coaching staff to fill out the 2022 class first. Nevertheless, they are certainly doing their homework at the wide receiver position. The fact that he is from Missouri is also a bit important. If Nebraska can establish a stronghold in the state, that can do wonders for them in recruiting. That would certainly give them a stronghold in Midwest recruiting.

It will be interesting to see who they add in the 2023 class. I wouldn’t expect things to really get going until next year for this class, but it is good that they are putting offers out there. It’s all part of the fun that is recruiting.
