Nebraska Basketball: Eduardo Andre making the most of his minutes
Nebraska basketball has to be pleased with what he is done while on the floor.
I know that is tough to find moral victories in this Nebraska basketball season. Especially when they sit at 4-11, there isn’t a lot of room to be rosy and optimistic. I get it. However, the play of Eduardo Andre is something that needs to be noticed.
The freshman was a big get my opinion when Nebraska basketball landed him in May. I noted at the time that he could add size to the roster, and also give Nebraska a rebounding threat. Measuring in at six-foot-10, 228 pounds, Andre may not be the biggest rebounder, but the bulk is certainly there.

He certainly makes an impact when he is on the floor, despite is limited minutes. I noticed him quite a bit in the game against Minnesota on Monday. In 13 minutes of action, he recorded three rebounds, two assists, and a block. Although he did not score any points, it was obvious his primary job was to help Nebraska basketball defensively.
As for right now, that seems to be his primary job throughout the course of each game. He certainly can score, there is no doubt about that. However, the coaching staff has put him out there for his length and size. So far, he has delivered. Coming off the bench to this point in the season, he hasn’t played a ton of minutes. However, he has made an impact when he is out there. it seems like he is always involved around the play and near the basket.
I will be interested to see how he develops. He has certainly shown ton of promise as a freshman so far. His size and his rebounding ability are noticeable, and just putting him in the paint is enough to make opposing players think twice about driving into the lane. It’s really been impressive to see what type of impact he has made in just a short amount of time.
Now, he will have to build on what he has learned over these last stretch of games. I do think he will be a valuable piece to the Nebraska basketball program. I can also see him cracking his way into the starting lineup during his time here. There are a ton of options that Nebraska basketball has with him as a player. I’ll be interested to see how they implement him into the lineup, especially with the Big Ten tournament approaching a couple of weeks.
