Zavier Betts says hello to college football

Nebraska football need a spark in what was a tight contest with Penn State. They got one in the form of freshman wide receiver Zavier Betts. He used his speed to take a reverse to the end zone for 45 yards.

This was a classic case of pure speed. When you look at the play, there were defenders waiting for him on the reverse. However, they hesitated to tackle him, and that was a big mistake. He used the hesitation to run right by them, and that allowed him to just simply use his athletic ability and run to the house for a touchdown.

This play was the first real inkling I got of how explosive he could be. I believe he will have a bigger 2021 season, as Nebraska looks to evolve the wide receiver position. As we saw on this play, he has enough speed to really be a matchup problem. I loved this play the moment I saw it, and it showed just how explosive he really was. I hyped him up a lot in the summeras I thought he could be a game-changer for the future. So far, it looks like he is proving me right.
