Nebraska Basketball will have a busy end of the month

As the Nebraska basketball season gets set to get underway, the men’s basketball team will host the Golden Window Classic.

The Golden Window Classic will be a nonconference, multi-team event. Starting on November 25, it will be held at Pinnacle Bank Arena. Lasting until November 29, seven teams will join Nebraska basketball for this tournament. LSU, Northern Iowa, Western Kentucky, Nevada, St. Louis, and Illinois State will all be a part of this.

This is certainly going to be a challenging tournament for Nebraska. Northern Iowa and St. Louis all had votes in the preseason top 25 poll.

Nevertheless, this will be a good development for Nebraska basketball. This will give them a good measuring stick in regards to where they are. In what was a rebuilding year last season, things were rough at times. Now, armed with a new roster all of talent, Nebraska basketball will look to make an impact and assert their dominance against these teams. The fact that it is at home will certainly help the program. It’s always great to play in the friendly confines of your home court.

Fans will be allowed at this event. However, only 25% capacity is allowed. Face coverings will be required, and fans are expected to stay in their seats and in their sections. Nevertheless, it is something in regards to fans. No matter how many there are, it will certainly give the Nebraska basketball team something to look forward to.

I love that the tournament roster is full of talented teams. This is not just some cupcake tournament for Nebraska basketball to get easy wins. This is going to be a good measuring stick for where the program is at. I expect them to be better than what they were last year, even with the new roster. It’s been pretty evident that coach Fred Hoiberg cannot catch a break when it comes to roster building.

I’m excited to see what this edition of the team will look like, and how they will do this season. It is not going to be an easy road, but it’s one that Nebraska basketball should be able to have success in. This tournament will certainly tell a whole lot about what the team will look like moving forward. I’m looking forward to it.
