Nebraska football officially knows what time they will be playing in state

For those eager to watch the home opener for Nebraska football, you are going to have to get up early once again. The home opener against Penn State will start at 11 AM and is set to take place on FS1.

This is the first time in three years that the two programs meet. Penn State defeated Nebraska football by a 56-44 margin in the friendly confines of Happy Valley in 2017. This will be the Nittany Lions first game at Memorial Stadium since Nebraska beat them by a 32-23 margin on November 10, 2012.

The home opener was originally set to take place against Wisconsin, but that game was canceled as we all know.

I’ll save my previews on Penn State for Penn State week. However, I have to say that I have been very impressed with the play of wide receiver Jahan Dotson.  He has recorded 12 catches for 238 yards and four touchdowns. Averaging 19.8 yards per catch, he is definitely a big playmaker for Penn State.

This could be a big game for Nebraska football. If they are able to beat Northwestern and head into the Penn State game with a 1-1 record, that could be a big swing. They certainly have the talent to do it, and they certainly have the skills to do it. As it is most of the time with Nebraska, it is all about execution.

dark. Next. Three keys to beating Northwestern

I’ll be interested to see how they fare against stiff competition. A win could certainly lift the spirits of everyone involved. As some like to say, anything can happen in the Big Ten.
