The future Nebraska football quarterback continues to play at a high level.

All throughout the year, you heard me talk about Nebraska football commitment Heinrich Haarberg and his dual-threat ability. It was certainly on display Friday, as Kearney Catholic took on Adams Central.

Haarberg  did it all through the air and ground rushing for 126 yards and two touchdowns on the ground, as well as going 14-for-19, throwing for 175 yards in the air.  I’m becoming accustomed to seeing the stat lines from him.

Catholic has not been short of offense this season, beating opponents by scores like 38-0, 38-14, and this past Friday 33-22. They have managed to play consistently, and have not lacked offensive firepower. Haarberg is a big part of that.  The way I am envisioning him playing, he would be perfect in Scott Frost’s system. With how Matt Lubick runs a wide-open offense, that could work in his favor as well.

We are seeing him do it all for Kearney , and he is truly establishing his role as a dual-threat quarterback. He is not taking his foot off the gas either. He has consistently played hard week in and week out and it seems like he has been able to do anything he wants on the field.

I am thrilled that he is having a good senior season, and I can definitely see him performing well in postseason play. He is exactly the type of quarterback Nebraska football needs for the system, and he has the unique ability to dominate a game through several facets. If the passing game is not working on a particular night, he can use his legs. He has the versatility to be able to be successful.

It will be interesting to see how he does for the rest of his season. Furthermore, hopefully he will not sustain any injuries that could affect him before coming to Lincoln.

He is set to be a huge part of the future for Nebraska football. Every box score following a game shows that, and it’s truly impressive to see what he can do.
