Nebraska Basketball hosting tournament great for school and program
This is good news for Nebraska basketball.
Can you believe that Nebraska basketball season is around the corner? According to media reports, the program has an idea for a tournament in Lincoln.
According to a report from John Rothstein of CBSSports Nebraska will not play in the Myrtle Beach Invitational in Orlando. Instead, they will host their own bubble in Lincoln during the first week of the season. Several power conference teams will be included.

This is certainly interesting to me. For starters, I wonder who is going to play? Are there are power five teams that are going to be involved? It should at least be decent competition. From what it sounds like, Nebraska is not going to add a bunch of smaller-school teams. It sounds like there could be at least some decent competition in this tournament.
The idea of Nebraska basketball hosting the tournament is extremely positive for the school. This was a program that only won seven games last season. Now, they are hosting a basketball tournament that could include marquee names. That is certainly a good look for Nebraska basketball, and this is a chance for them to show that they can compete with some of the top teams in the country.
I can’t wait to see what the lineup for this tournament is. I feel like some big names will be able to come to Lincoln and make this a really fun couple of days. Especially during the first week of the season, this could be a nice tuneup for bigger games down the road. Hopefully, Nebraska will be able to be competitive in this tournament, and really show what they can do. I have confidence in Coach Hoiberg and his staff. The roster turnover certainly should make for an exciting year.
In any event, this tournament should be fun and give Nebraska basketball a chance to show what they are made of. I certainly can’t wait to see this roster in action, and I feel confident that they can do better than last season. Hopefully, all the pieces finally fit this year.
