Moos gave a gauntlet of information on Tuesday.

Nebraska athletic director Bill Moos was a guest on Sports Nightly on Tuesday. While he was on the show, he offered some logistics about the schedule.

Some notable nuggets from this interview include the fact that Moos feels good about the Iowa and Nebraska game being on Black Friday. This wouldn’t change much from past years as the Iowa-Nebraska football game was on Black Friday last season. We all know how that turned out.

Aside from that, Moos indicated that Nebraska football would be in pads for 29 days prior to the first competition. That puts a full-pad practice occurring for the first time this Friday. It’s hard to believe that we are talking about full pad practices when just a couple of months ago, we were wondering if there would be a full season.

These two things are definitely of interest to Nebraska fans. For one, I would love to see a Nebraska football-Iowa game on Black Friday. Something just feels right about these two teams playing at that time.

Full pads are certainly a welcome development. Now, Nebraska football can begin to start hitting and see what these players are made of. With a roster teeming with talent, Nebraska should be in a good position for success this year.

The one thing I worry about in regards to full pads is if Nebraska football players will get hurt easier due to not having practiced in a while. They did not go through the normal spring ball or conditioning drills earlier this year. We’ll have to see how it plays out.

To be honest with you, just these two developments alone have me excited for the start of the season. there is some form of normalcy, finally.

The Iowa game is something that I’ve been looking forward to since last year. Nebraska football needs to get revenge on the Hawkeyes. Aside from just getting revenge, I love that college football rivalry games are back.

Football is back, and these two developments just signal it. It just means that we are getting closer to the football season, and that is certainly a good thing. I can’t wait to see what this edition of the Nebraska football team will be able to do.
