Deshawn Woods

Deshawn Woods is a player I’ve talked about before, and as a Omaha prospect, it would be great to see the local kid come to Lincoln. Woods is currently a four-star recruit in the 2020 class. He is ranked the third overall offensive guard in his class, and the top player in the state of Nebraska per the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

In addition to Nebraska, he has also generated interest from Arizona State, Buffalo, Florida, Iowa, Iowa State, Michigan State, and Texas A&M. However, Woods appears to be trending in the right direction for Nebraska. Most recently, he was offered by Arizona State on June 3.

What could he bring to the Nebraska football program? Woods is the ultimate offensive lineman. Measuring in at 6-foot-4, 270 pounds, he is an aggressive blocker. As soon as the ball is snapped, he locks and on his man and pushes him back with ease.

To me, he would fit best for Nebraska because he is a good run-blocker. I could see him using his aggressiveness to clear lanes and make space for running backs. Nebraska has had great success in recruiting the offensive line as of late. Woods would be the perfect addition to the 2022 class.

He would also fall in line with Nebraska football recruiting highly-rated lineman. The Huskers have been able to get some gems over the past couple of classes, and Woods would certainly fit that description for 2022.
